Syria-Turkey: Turkey Urges Citizens to Leave Syria; Saudi Arabia Closes Embassy

Turkey advised citizens to leave Syria, saying the deteriorating situation has caused “serious security risks” . . . Saudi Arabia also announced today that it is closing its embassy due to growing violence in Syria . . . Ankara will halt some consular services on March 22 and is considering recalling its ambassador . . . continued violence is forcing foreigners out of Syria . . . these moves are also statements against the legitimacy of the Assad regime and a reminder that Assad is increasingly isolated internationally.
