China is Ethiopia’s most important trade partner and plans to increase bilateral trade with Ethiopia to $3 billion by 2015.. . . Beijing signed a trade pact on November 16 that provided Addis Ababa with a $100 million loan as well as 65 cars and 25 buses to transport dignitaries visiting Ethiopia . . . Beijing sees Ethiopia as part of its wider investment portfolio of African countries to obtain access to their mineral and energy resources.
