A high level LIGNET source who visited Iran in early August reports that the country’s economy is in a fragile condition and is facing challenges that have gone unreported in the West. LIGNET’s source passes along information from his Iranian contacts that Iran’s nuclear program is further along than many outside observers believe and that Iran misunderstands the current state of U.S.-Israeli relations.

LIGNET’s source had access to several senior government officials during a recent trip to Iran.  Our source worked for many years for international organizations and has numerous connections with leading officials in governments throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle East.  He is well respected, reliable and, after many years in the field, an astute observer of the inner workings of governments.
